Ulu Madura Donoriko Ivory 1110b – A fine and rare example of a keris handle from the island of Madura. In the uniquely Madurese form called the donoriko, it is made from elephant ivory and intricately carved showing a winged horse with floral motifs that are very deep, and from the sides the carvings are pierced through.

Condition: Very good condition. Age:  Early 19th century. Price:- US$580 excluding shipping.

Ulu Minang Kabau Big Jawa Demam Ivory 1110b – From the Sumatran region of Minang Kabau and made from elephant ivory, this rare example and bigger than usual in size, is in the typical Minang Kabau jawa demam form;- a form depicting a squatting figurine with arms folding of hugging the body.

Condition: Very good condition. Age:  Early 19th century.  ON HOLD.

Ulu Minang Kabau Jawa Demam Ivory 1011 –A fine example of a keris hilt from the Sumatran region of Minang Kabau. Made of elephant ivory, and is finely carved in the jawa demam form (a form depicting a squatting figurine with arms folding of hugging the body) with its upright posture typical of Minang Kabau styles.

Condition: Very good condition. Age:  Early to mid 20th century. SOLD.
Ulu Cirebon Putra Satu Gading Laut 1110 – A very good and rare example of a keris hilt from the northern Javanese coastal region of Cirebon. Made of sea ivory (dugong or sea cow), it is finely and deeply carved with floral motifs that hide a human figurine called the putra satu.

Condition: Very good condition. Age:  Early 19th century. Price:- US$440 excluding shipping.

Ulu Tajong Patani Wood 1011 – A rare example of a keris hilt from the northern Malaysian peninsular regions of Kelantan as well as the southern Thailand region of Patani. Made of hard woods, it is very finely carved in the form called the tajong. It has been described by writers from the west as a kingfisher. It is also called "Pekaka" by many in the area, in resemblance to a bird of the same name. Although it does resemble a bird, closer look at the handle shows it to be more of a "demonic" figurine.

Ulu Cirebon Raksaksa Sea Ivory 1110 – Another very good example of keris handle from the northern Javanese coastal region of Pesisir, Cirebon in origin. Made of tea stained elephant ivory, it is finely carved in the form of a Hindu deity. This style is very typical of the region's predominantly Muslims, but still retaining certain Hindu elements.

Condition: Very good condition. Age: Early 20th century. SOLD.
Ulu Madura Donoriko Ivory 1110s – Another very good and fine example from the eastern Javanese island of Madura. Made from elephant ivory, it is finely and deeply carved in the donoriko form with Dutch influenced motifs that include a crown, a winged horse, a dragon and epaulettes at the sides, with pierced through carvings that needs added mentioning.

Condition: Very good condition. Age:  Early 19th century. Price:- US$300 excluding shipping.

Ulu Bugis Sulawesi Kerdas Ukiran 310 - A fine and rare example of a keris handle from the southern Sulaweis region of Bugis. Made of hard well selected kemuning woods, it is in the typical Bugis pistol grip form called the kerdas. Usually plain, this example is finely carved with floral and geometrical motifs typical of the region's styles.

Condition: Very good condition. Age:  Late 19th century. Price:- US$225 excluding shipping. 

Ulu Tongkat Penusuk Makara 0112 – From the central or southern Sumatran regions, this cane sword hilt or ulu tongkat penusuk, is made from wood and well carved in the relief form of the makara (a mythical creature combining an elephant, a dragon and a fish).  Base fitted with plain brass ferrule.

Condition: Very good condition. Age:  Early 18th century. Price:- US$220 excluding shipping. New.
Ulu Gobek Bali Barongan 0112 – Not from a weapon, but from a betel nut pounder’s hilt called the gobek. Made from hard ebony woods, it is well carved in the form of the barongan (mythical lion) typical of the Balinese style and form. Base fitted with plain brass ferrule.

Condition: Very good condition. Age:  Middle 18th century. Price:- US$200 excluding shipping. New.

Ulu Madura Donoriko Wood 140 – Another good example from the eastern Javanese island of Madura. Made from hard trembalo(?), it is in the form called the donoriko finely and deeply carved with floral motifs that includes a winged horse  at the front, with pierced through carvings at the sides. It is also fitted with a well repoussed silver ferrule or selut.

Condition: Very good condition. Age:  Early to middle 19th century. SOLD.

Ulu Madura Tulang Kerbau 1110 – A very good example of a keris handle from the island of Madura. In the uniquely Madurese form called the donoriko, it is made from buffalo bone and well carved with fine floral motifs that are very deep, and from the sides the carvings are pierced through.

Condition: Very good condition. Age:  Early 20th century. Price:- US$95 excluding shipping.

Ulu Cirebon Ganesha 125 – Another very good and rare example of keris handle from the northern Javanese coastal region of Pesisir, Cirebon in origin. This keris handle is made of hard and dark ebony wood, carved in the relief form of the elephant god Ganesha, with pierced through carvings at places. Due to Islamic influences, many of these handles "hide" physical features, retaining some of the Hindu beliefs. Carvings are very deep and are pierced through at places. 

Condition: Very good condition. Age:  Late 18th century. SOLD.

The top carvings has the Surakarta emblem showing the earth, sun, moon, star and the tiara or crown.

Condition: Excellent condition. Newly made, with the base wood made from a single piece of hard teak.
