Keris Jawa Solo Luk 13 Parungsari 609 – A good example of a keris from the central Javanese regions of Surakarta. Fittings in the gayaman surakarta forms, with the handle made of hard tayuman woods and the top sheath made of well selected pelet woods with naturally occurring contrasting grains. Bottom stem is encased with an open plain thick brass cover or pendok blewah. A brass ferrule or mendak completes fittings.

Long and sturdy blade with 13 meandering waves or luks, has very well executed base features or perabots, with an overall shape or dapor called parungsari.

Pamor pattern are condense and are arranged in the mlumah technique of the wos utah or scattered rice variations. It is said to enhance the owner’s material well being.

Condition: Very good condition.

Age:  Krises are traditionally made without any date stampings or engravings of the makers' name. Although a kris smith or "empu" has his own styles configured together with the dapor and especially the ganjar (cross piece). Obvious age wear and tear, usage, familiarity with forms, motifs and designs, origin and history, mediums and materials used are our guidelines in determining an approximate age. This particular piece, from our experience and knowledge, should go back to the early 19th century blade, with early to mid 20th century fitting.
