Keris Madura Luk 9 Sekar Lampes.

Keris Madura Luk 9 Sekar Lampes – A very good and rare example of a keris from the eastern Javanese island of Madura. Fittings in the ladrangan Madura styles with the hilt made of hard woods and are finely carved with floral motifs typical of the regions style. The top sheath or wrangka is made of very well selected kemuning woods with natural flashing grains. Bottom stem is encased with an open plain brass cover called the pendok blewah. A silver mendak or ferrule with zircon profusions completes fittings.

Long and very sturdy blade with 9 meandering waves or luks has rather complete base features using the kembang kacang, pecetan without sogokans, one lambei gajah, one jalen and the grenengs or fretworks.

Pamor patterns are rare and are arranged in the miring technique. A central line is flanked by smaller circular formations called pamor sekar lampes. The pamor is said to enhance the owner’s status as well as a guiding pamor.
