Pedang Tusuk Jawa Timur Ulu Makara 0717 - A good and rare example of a stabbing sword of eastern Javanese in origin. Silver encased wooden handle in the form of the makara (a mythical creature combining the elephant, fish and dragon/serpent), having the eyes studded with zircons. Very sturdy blade with the top half angled downwards, having the double sharp edges only at the top half; a feature common with the pedang tusuk;- literary meaning a stabbing sword.
Pamor patterns are arranged in the mlumah technique or the kulit semangko or melon's skin variations, which is said to enhance the owner's popularity.
