Keris Jawa Lurus Garham Hujan Emas

Keris Jawa Lurus Garham Hujan Emas – Another fine and rare example of a keris form the central Javanese region of Surakarta. Handle and top sheath in the gayaman Surakarta forms are made of the rare fossilized mammoth molar which is also believed to have mystical protective properties. Bottom stem is of wood and is fully encased with finely repoussed silver alloy having animal and floral motifs.

Straight blade with rather plain base features or perabots has an overall shape or dapor called tilam upih.

Pamor patterns are rare and are arranged in the mlumah technique having many small circles present all over the blade called pamor hujan emas or golden showers.
This pamor is highly sought after as it is said to bring big fortune for the owner, and is best suited for a businessman.

Condition: Very good condition. Aside from very minor dents at the base of sheath, rest is all in very good condition.

Age: Krises are traditionally made without any date stampings or engravings of the makers' name. Although a kris smith or "empu" has his own styles configured together with the dapor and especially the ganjar (cross piece). Obvious age wear and tear, usage, familiarity with forms, motifs and designs, origin and history, mediums and materials used are our guidelines in determining an approximate age. This particular piece, from our experience and knowledge, should go back to the middle to late 19th century.

To the U.S.A, present rates are at US$32.00 per kilogram by FedEx (3 days) and Speedpost are at US$22.00 per kilogram (10 days). Other destinations please do inquire.
