Tombak Jawa Luk 9 Pulo Tirto.

Tombak Jawa Luk 9 Pulo Tirto – A good example of a spear or tombak from the central; Javanese regions. Newly made fittings having a rather short shaft is commonly seen with spears or tombaks from the region.

Sturdy blade with prominent spine and 9 meandering waves or luks, has minute fretworks or ricikans at the base.

Pamor patterns are arranged in the mlumah technique and are of the pulo tirto or thousand islands variations. It is said to enhance the owner’s material well being.

Condition: Very good condition.

Age:  Krises and other edge weapons from the region are traditionally made without any date stampings or engravings of the makers' name. Although a kris smith or "empu" has his own styles configured together with the dapor and especially the ganjar (cross piece). Obvious age wear and tear, usage, familiarity with forms, motifs and designs, origin and history, mediums and materials used are our guidelines in determining an approximate age. This particular piece, from our experience and knowledge, should go back to the early 19^th century blade with late 20^th century fittings.

Length of blade: 11".   Overall length: 21".

• Shipment by air courier. Shipments by reliably known Federal Express. Depending on destination, please allow a maximum of  5 working days for safe delivery time. • To the U.S.A, present rates are at US$33.00 per kilogram by FedEx (3 days) and Speedpost are at US$24.00 per kilogram (10 days). Other destinations please do inquire.
