Keris Jawa Lurus Jalak Ngore 0117 - A very good example of a keris from the central Javanese regions of Jogjakarta. Fittings or wrangka is in the gayaman jogja form is made from well selected tayuman woods with flashing grains. Bottom stem is encased with an open brass stem cover or pendok blewah.

Long and very sturdy blade with prominent spine has well executed and deep base features or perabots with an overall shape or dapor called jalak ngore.

Pamor patterns are condense, and are arranged in the mlumah technique of the kulit semangko or melon’s skin variation. It is said to enhance the owner’s popularity.

Condition: Very good condition. Aside from  a minor hairline crack at the handle, rest is all in very good condition.

Age:  Krises are traditionally made without any date stampings or engravings of the makers' name. Although a kris smith or "empu" has his own styles configured together with the dapor and especially the ganjar (cross piece). Obvious age wear and tear, usage, familiarity with forms, motifs and designs, origin and history, mediums and materials used are our guidelines in determining an approximate age. This particular piece, from our experience and knowledge, should go back to the early to mid 19th century blade.
