Solo styles are made from hard teak woods with good grains. The bottom stem
or gandar is encased with well repoussed brass stem cover or pendok
bunton.

Base features or perabots are well executed using the kembang kacang
having jenggots and lambei gajah, with the picetan and
complete sogokans, including the fretworks or grenengs. The
overall shape or dapor is called sinom in Javanese.
Pamor patterns are rare, and are arranged in the miring technique and of
blarak ngirid or coconut eaves variations and is said to enhance
the owner's status

Age: Krises are traditionally made without any date stampings or engravings of the makers' name. Although a kris smith or "empu" has his own styles configured together with the dapor and especially the ganjar (cross piece). Obvious age wear and tear, usage, familiarity with forms, motifs and designs, origin and history, mediums and materials used are our guidelines in determining an approximate age. This particular piece, from our experience and knowledge, should go back to the late 19th early 20th century.
